Friday fun!

I had an unexpected day off on Friday since my sitter had to keep her sick kiddos home from school.  That meant that Kinley & I had a whole day to do whatever we wanted!  Normally I have lots of plans on my days off but I decided that we were going to run around town and just have fun without any timeline which is totally not like me!  I usually have every minute scheduled.

First we went to Sprout Fitters to use my coupon.  It's a cute kids boutique and they had plenty of fun spring clothes in stock so I got the girls matching outfits (and so it begins...)
Kinley made herself at home and checked everything out.  She thought she was pretty big stuff walking around the store like a big girl and didn't want to leave when we were done.
Then we went to Target to pick up a few swimsuits that I had been eyeing for summer.  They were sold out online so I was convinced that they would sell out in the store, too!  After I browsed the baby section Kinley saw the baby bath product aisle and really wanted to check out all the bubbles.  I finally got her out of the cart after hearing "walk...walk...walk"  too many times.

How did she get so big and so dang cute - happens in the blink of an eye just like everyone says!
I let little miss independent stroll around the store for a while and it was so nice to just hang out and not have to rush off to do anything else.  After picking up some "must haves" we headed home to enjoy the beautiful weather (60 degrees!)

After trying unsuccessfully to get her down for a nap, I gave in & we decided to go play outside to burn some energy.  How can I force this sweet little face to take a nap?!
My little cheeser.

We started out with her new wagon from Christmas but she really wanted to explore on her own so that was short lived.
After strolling around our yard she noticed that Louis, our neighbor dog, was outside in his cage.  I could not tear her away from their house!

I finally got out my good camera and took some pictures of my sweet pea!
I followed her around our house forever and all she wanted to do was walk and walk and walk...  It was fun watching her though because she hasn't got to explore outside much since she wasn't walking last summer/fall.  I'm really looking forward to spring now!
She got brave and ventured to our other neighbors yard (I can't wait until the grass greens up!)
We had a much needed relaxing day to just hang out and go with the flow, especially considering all of the changes that will be happening very soon!  I'm cherishing these little moments that we have together!

Bump Watch 2013: Week 29

We have had some crazy weather this week but that's no surprise for Illinois!  It was going to be in the 60's on Monday so I decided to dress Kinley & myself in Spring colors.  I thought we looked like Easter eggs!  Kinley & Aunt Sue even took Uncle RoRo out on a walk to enjoy the gorgeous weather.  Unfortunately, in true Illinois form, a cold front swept through and we're in the single digits today.  Bitter.Cold.  I'm so ready for Spring!

Now that I've re-read that, I'm a major weather dork.  Maybe I should become a weather girl?!  haha.  I blame my dad's weather obsession.  :)

Anyway, since we got an impromptu belly pick, I thought I'd add a weekly baby bump post (minus the chalkboard).

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 29 weeks

Size of baby: 15.3 inches & 2.5 pounds

Total weight gain/loss:  20 pounds

Maternity clothes: Pretty much all maternity
wear now since it's so comfortable!  Still loving my skinny colored denim!

Gender: It's a GIRL!!

Movement: I think we have a little gymnast in
there!

Sleep:  Kinley has been sleeping really well this week, praise the lord!  I've been sleeping pretty well, too.

What I miss:  Easily rolling over in bed.  Now it's a chore filled with moans & groans.  (Scott likes to make fun of my dramatic ways).

Cravings:  Nothing crazy this week but Scott is complaining about my random grocery store purchases.  This time it was corn dogs & donut holes.  We totally don't need them but they sounded good and I definitely give myself a break in the eating department when I'm pregnant.

Symptoms: Some intense low back pain at times.

Memorable moment for the week:  This isn't really a "memorable moment" but something I thought I'd share.  I've been holding out on shopping for baby #2 but I couldn't resist this deal on Zulily a week ago:
I mean, seriously, a frilly dress in one of my favorite colors?!  AND the back is cut up so you can see the ruffle butt diaper cover.  I just about bought one in every color!

This is totally not a paid advertisement but check out Zulily if you haven't already, I can always find some super cute/unique things.  Some items are still a little expensive but it's always fun to look.  And if you order something, can I send you an invite/referral?  I get a little credit whenever I add people, win-win!

So that ended up being a totally random post - weather, pregnancy, and shopping!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Girls day in STL!

We took a trip to St. Louis to do a little pre-Christmas shopping with my mom, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandma on Veterans' Day. (and Kinley!)

We arrived around 10:00, bought some Christmas decor at HomeGoods and Michaels, and grabbed some lunch to fuel our shop-a-thon.  We lunched at Nadoz Cafe - good food but a little pricy.  Here's K 'playing' with her turkey & cheese sandwich and devouring her fruit.

After lunch we hit the galleria.  A few highlights include:

Shopping at Nordstrom for the perfect pair of Tory Burch flats for mommy & Aunt Beth (in our dreams)!  But how cute would they be in Kinley size?!
Trying on Toms for our "shopaholic-in-training" but they were too big still. :(
Kinley's 1st Disney Store experience!  (Even though I look terrible in the pic below, I'm taking one for the team b/c the important person looks adorable!)

Kinley discovered the princess mirror and had fun dancing and making faces at herself...
She tried on her first princess crown...
and thought it looked better on her than Aunt B...sorry!  ;)

After a loooong day (8 hours) of shopping we hit Bare Escentuals to freshen our make-up before dinner.  (Really, we just like playing with make-up).

Our little diva loved trying on lip glosses and standing at the counter like a big girl!
Mom & her girls (minus Cora)

Our shopping crew - 4 generations of Conboy girls!  I'm so thankful that my grandma is still in good health and was able to shop with us the whole time and to have such close family.  What great memories were made!
I'm thinking (crossing my fingers) that this will become an annual tradition for us!

Hockey & Homecoming

We had lots of fun last weekend which started with attending the Rochester homecoming parade on Friday afternoon.  I normally like going to the parade to see all the kids and floats but this year was extra special!

Sue decided that Kinley should be in the parade with her cousins so she "walked" with the Rochester Soccer Club crew.  I thought she was a little crazy but was really excited :)
Orange & blue lining the parade route
A parade isn't complete without the band!

I caught the RSC float at the end before they got to the high school and it was chaos!

I found Kinley passed out in her stroller.  All that "walking" will wear a girl out!
Check out the tutu that Aunt Sue made for her - love it!
Brayden & Delaney posing with Kinley

Kinley & I picked up Aunt Cora after the parade and we swung by Panera on the way to Scott's hockey game.
This girl LOVES her food, especially mac n cheese!

Scott was playing in the tournament to raise money for Danielle Loftus and Caring Bridge. I'm sure most people know that Danielle was involved in a devastating wave runner accident a few summers ago. Scott has played hockey with her dad for years so participating in events like this are really special.
Terrible picture of Scott but it's the only one I had on my phone.

After the game Scott decided to teach Kinley how to be a real hockey fan and bang on the glass.  She learned quickly how much fun it is and was hitting the glass and waving in no time!
Daddy's girl

[Side note:  We got home late that night so I knew after a long day with hardly any naps, Kinley would sleep immediately!  It's hilarious how wrong I was!

She was overtired and would NOT give in so she played in her crib from 8-9:15 and then the meltdown began - her bedtime is 7:45/8:00.  She didn't want held or rocked or put down, nothing made her happy...Finally, after listening to her sob until 10pm, I decided that this preggo mama was driving to Steak N Shake for a milkshake!  And wouldn't you guess, she was asleep before we left our lane.  What.a.night!  (Of course, I didn't make Scott come home because it was a special weekend with his hockey buddies but boy does he owe me).]

Scott had 2 more games on Saturday but Kinley and I decided to do a little shopping with my mom, dad, & Cora that morning.

We were looking for gifts for Ava so, naturally, Kinley had to try everything out first.  And she may or may not have gone home with 2 out of the 3 toys shown below...
In my defense, grandma bought them for her house!  :)

Scott won his game that morning so Kinley & I ran home to get in a quick nap before his next game.

Delaney came to the 2nd game after gymnastics so we had more entertainment!  Can you guess whose lap Kinley wanted to sit on?
Scott won his 3rd game and played for 3rd/4th place on Sunday.  They ended up winning & taking 3rd, yea!

Normally, Scott has hockey on Sunday nights so we took advantage of his night off and went to Lake Pointe for dinner.  Kinley LOVED coloring while we waited!
I'm laughing as I post this because Kinley has a blue bow in her hair with a pink & black outfit but I didn't notice that day...?  Ha, I'm losing it!

Anyway, we had a super fun, busy, and exhausting weekend so I'm ready for a lazy fall weekend at home. :)

Thursday Thoughts

How is it Thursday again already??  Since I still haven't had time to upload pictures from Mother's day or Cora's graduation, I thought I would share a few boutiques that I've been obsessing over lately.  And yes, I think obsessing would be the right word...just ask Beth how many times per week I say, "have you seen this dress on XYZ boutique today?!"

I saw these on other blogs and 'liked' them on facebook and I've been hooked ever since.  I mean, who doesn't love seeing new items pop up on their news feed every day!?

I still like shopping at my usual Express and Limited but I'm getting tired of wearing the same summer dresses as everyone else just in a different color.  So here they are in no particular order:

A few things that I've been eyeing...
The really cute stuff sells out fast though!

Love this top!
And this dress!

I first saw this dress on the Red Dress Boutique & had to have it but it was sold out so I googled it and found it at James & Leigh so I've added them to my list!

I've seen multiple people blog about Bridier Baubles and finally snagged this necklace when it came back in stock.  I've been loving bib necklaces lately!
I love this one, too, and it comes in many different colors.

So there you have it, my current obsessions.  Don't worry, I know my fashion blogging skills are sub-par but I just wanted to share my excitement with you!

I should apologize b/c I'm sure a lot of this stuff is sold out but I wanted to show my favorite examples!

Chewbeads

I'm stuck at the office again waiting for the budget to get finalized so I've been snooping around on the internet.  I stumbled across these on a baby blog and think they're pretty hilarious.  They're called "Chewbeads" and the here's the story behind them:

The idea for Chewbeads began in 2009 shortly after the birth of my son. Like most babies, he loved to put everything in his mouth and my necklaces were a favorite. Like most moms, I didn't feel comfortable letting him chew on them, with concern that they might break or have unwanted chemicals. As a veteran of the fashion industry, I had an amazing collection of necklaces and bracelets, so with those as my inspiration, I set out to create soft, non-toxic jewelry, which was colorful, chic and, above all else safe. Hence, Chewbeads!
  • Beads are made with 100% silicone (similar to pacifiers & nipples)
  • Soft on babies gums and emerging teeth
  • Easily cleaned with dish soap & water, also dishwasher safe!
  • No BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Cadmium, or Lead
  • Necklaces have a breakaway clasp for added safety
  • Necklaces are a great sensory tool to help your baby focus while nursing
  • Bracelets are a colorful reminder of which side you've just nursed

I think it's an interesting idea but wouldn't your shirt get soaked with slobber from the beads?  Maybe that happens anyway without the beads?  (Hahaha, can you tell I'm not a mom yet?!)  Anyway, I love new jewelry & thought it was a fun idea to share, what do you think?
