Pre-4th of July Fun

We were excited to start our 4th of July celebration a few days early, especially since Kinley had 5 different red, white, & blue outfits!
I met Sue & the kids for lunch on Friday and Kinley got her 1st big kid souvenir cup from the Corner Pub.  She loved drinking out of the cool straw!

Friday night we went out on the boat for "light up the lake."  Lets just say that it was a lot more comfortable than last 4th of July...

Saturday we got up bright & early & drove to Aurora for the Jimmy Buffett concert.  Here we are packed in Rob & Sue's car:
Kinley was next to me snoozin' away..
We stayed with my in-laws and the girls took Kinley on the trampoline for the 1st time.  She seemed to like it until I came outside and she saw me.  (Realizing that mommy's not holding her is always a good reason for a meltdown).
We grilled out and made our own cheeseburgers in paradise and margaritas before the concert.  Rian made a mega burger!
Kinley rocked her dress that the O'Connors brought back from Hawaii - perfect Buffett attire.
K & me before the concert.
Since all of the adults were going to the concert, it was Kinley's 1st time staying with a "non adult" babysitter.  I must admit that I was a little anxious but they are very responsible and Kinley loves her cousins so that helped!
I got a pretty good report - she was good but the girls had to sing 'twinkle, twinkle' a million times before she finally fell asleep. ;)  We loaded up the next morning and made the trip back home for the annual Tucker 4th of July party.  I had to snap a pic of the kiddos in the back:

We got home at 11 so I went home, made fruit pizza, went to Jeffers' pool for a few hours, ran home, and tried to get myself & Kinley ready for the party at 4:00.
Unfortunately, I only allowed an hour to get us ready and finish the fruit pizza so it was just another case of me trying to do too many things in one day... I'll never learn!  Therefore, I was late to the party and had a million things to carry so I felt like a failure as a "single" mom!

A few pics from the party:

We had a fun but exhausting weekend but it made us even more excited for the real 4th of July celebration!

June Photo Recap (Part IV)

To finally wrap up the month of June we...

ran to Wal-mart after work one day and Kinley got her ankle stuck in the cart since she can't keep her legs still!  We had just started shopping and I was sure that we would have to leave before we even started - luckily, I was able to free her leg without breaking her poor ankle!

We finally found a spot that's short enough to practice pulling up.

We ate chicken asparagus lasagna, yum!

We practiced pulling up in bed, too.

We gave Kinley her 1st after bath combover & learned how to "brush" mommies hair with her baby brush.

and got really excited when mommy came home from work!

We had a really fun month but hopefully I can keep up with July a little better!  Now, onto our 4th of July week!

June Photo Recap (Part III)

In June we also...

ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings one evening,

Made funny videos at home...

(This is probably the most embarrassing video I've ever been in, well my voice at least. I do sing really bad but I promise I don't sing like that! Her giggles were too cute not to post - and please ignore our unorganized bar area behind her...mommy of the year, right here!)

practiced pulling up in bed,

found a baby in the mirror and gave her lots of smooches,

and showed off our newest vocabulary.

June Photo Recap (Part II)

We went swimming at Aunt Marsha & Uncle Jack's pool on Scott's weekend off & Kinley enjoyed her 1st popsicle.
She's been working on her abs lately...

We decided to have an adult boat day and let loose!
The ride home was very entertaining...

We took Kinley out for her 1st sushi experience (but not tasting).
She thinks she's big stuff in the high chair.
Such a happy girl!

We played dress up and took a few pictures & video in her tutu...

And she's exhausted!

Father's Day

We decided to celebrate father's day with my family at my Aunt & Uncle's pool - our normal summer weekend routine.  My dad surprised Kinley with a new floaty and sunglasses.  (Yes, he brought his grandbaby gifts on his day).
Modeling her new floaty & shades...

I'm am so lucky to have the best "daddy-do" ever growing up.  From taking me on countless bike rides, to following us all over the state (and country) for dance competitions, he's the best I could have ever asked for!  And now I get to watch him turn into the best grandpa ever - he always wants to swing through the baby section if he and mom my are out shopping and it's just about the sweetest thing!  Always thinking about his other "babydoll."
Unfortunately, Scott had to work on his first father's day so we went and visited him at work towards the end of the day and bought him some new golf gear since he plays in a golf league this summer.

Here's his 1st picture with his baby girl:
Kinley is super blessed to have such a loving and hard working daddy.  I knew Scott would be an awesome dad from the moment I saw him with his nieces and nephews.  He's always been such a natural with a big heart - that pretty much sealed the deal for me!
I just love watching those two interact and can only imagine the memories they're going to make as she grows up - 4-wheeler rides, wakeboarding, soccer - all stuff that mommy probably wouldn't do.  And she already has him wrapped around her finger.  :)
