I had expected to work on Valentine's Day but our busy week got moved back so I was actually off for the evening.  We decided to have a romantic evening at Scott's parent's house and Kinley looked pretty cute in her valentine's day pj's!

Scott prepped all week for the boat show and Kinley loved being his little helper on the calculator.

I'm a sucker and when Kinley wanted Tiki in the tub, I gave in and thought it was hilarious!  Aren't I the adult here??

 

Last weekend we went to pick out our new boat at the boat show (in my dreams).  Scott worked all weekend so we had to squeeze in some daddy time where we could.

I'm pretty sure that she helped sell a few boats that day.

Every night before I go to bed I have to check on Kinley to make sure she's ok.  Will I still be doing this when she's 16??

February was pretty uneventful for us but it still flew by.  Now I'm ready for spring weather but as of March 2, we still have snow on the ground.  I'll keep crossing my fingers!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been excited for Valentine's Day this year!  Not so much for the cards, candy, and flowers but to dress Kinley in all of her pink & red!

We started wearing our Valentine's finest last week...

I really need to start getting out my big camera instead of using all Instagram pictures...

Shirt, hair clip

I bought her onesie & elephant clip on Etsy. 

Side note - I would not recommend the shop that made her onesie, it wasn't very well made BUT Geneva Diva makes the cutest/cheapest hair clips & bows and hosts fun giveaways/contests on Facebook so I totally recommend them!  And no, I was not reimbursed - free advertising if you make good stuff! :)

Anyway, I was also determined to make a front door decoration that I saw on Pinterest.  Instead of reinventing the wheel and giving another step by step tutorial, I'll link to the one I used.  It was really simple but a little time consuming.

I changed it up a little based on what I could find at Michaels & Joann Fabrics.  The only paper mache letters were really small so found a big piece of styrofoam and traced my own letters onto it to cut out.  I also used felt instead of t-shirts & straight pins instead of hot glue.

I think I cut out 100 pink circles & 100 red circles so I did one set each night and then it took me under an hour to pin it all to the Styrofoam last weekend.

I was pretty happy with how it turned out and now I have a Valentine's decoration to use every year!

We had to get pictures this morning before we left the house!  Daddy's 3 girls on Valentine's Day.

This little sweetheart decided to get up at 5:30 and didn't really go back to sleep so pictures were a little difficult.  But lets talk about this face.  Yes, Kinley, you get whatever you want with those puppy dog eyes!

Then I asked her if she wanted to send a picture to Grandma and she perked right up with a pose and everything!  And for the record, she hated her skirt this morning and kept saying, off, off!  I'm a mean mommy & made her wear it to Aunt Sue's.  :)  Then I got a text from Sue at 8:17 saying that her skirt was already off and she gave a big "aaaah."

Later in the day I decided to compare her Valentine's Day picture from last year.  What a difference 1 year makes, wow.

And I got the best surprise of all when Sue brought Kinley up to my office for a visit and they brought me a Valentine & candy!  SO lucky to have an amazing sis-in-law/auntie-sitter for K.

We didn't have a very exciting Valentine's Day yesterday & that's fine with me.  I was stuck at work until 9pm so we wouldn't have had time to do anything anyway. 

It was still a very special valentine's day though because it was Kinley's first!  Here's a picture of our favorite little valentine rocking her onesie from Aunt Beth.

Later that day I got the best V-day surprise delivery...nope not flowers, but my valentine!

She loves those fingers lately (actually her whole fist) so we couldn't get them out for a quick pic.  Oh well, love her anyway!

Bump Watch 2011: Week 8

Finally, after 4 long weeks of waiting, the big day was upon us - February 14 -Valentine's Day - oh yeah, and our first doctors appointment!! This day turned out to be a very eventful & memorable day! We had an appointment at 9am & we drove separately because we had to go to work right after. We "pretty much" knew where the office was so Scott followed me just in case. He got stopped by a train so I drove up a few blocks and found the office & parked, thinking that he would also see the parking lot. Well, as our luck would have it, he thought it was on the other side of the road and turned the other way right before the entrance. I had no idea so I walked up to the door & turned to wait for him before I went in...and I waited...and waited...and waited. I called his cell phone to give him directions but it just rang...and rang...and rang. (You get the idea of how happy I was). I guessed that he had forgotten his phone so I called my sister to pass the time until he got there. I finally saw his car come to the stop sign down the street - pheww!! BUT he decided to turn the other way! OOohhmygoshhh, we're going to be late to our first baby doctor appointment!! I stood outside for what felt like hours trying to figure out if I was going to have to go in without him. :( Luckily, he finally found the building and I was so happy that he actually made it, that I didn't even care about what had just happened.

We got checked in and the nerves began. I still didn't have any symptoms and didn't feel pregnant at all so I just wanted to make sure that there was actually a baby in there somewhere! I prepared myself thinking that we would see the doctor, do blood work & have the sonogram at the end. Boy was I wrong. The sonographer came out & took us back to do the sonogram first - NOW?! I'm not ready! hahaha I didn't know I would be that nervous! Well, wouldn't you guess, up came the mass of cells also known as Baby T. He/she looked like more of a shrimp or a whale than a fetus but I was thrilled to see that there was someone growing in there! The baby measured 8 weeks 5 days, exactly what we had estimated, and had a heartbeat of 174 which is pretty high but normal. The nurse said everything looked great and she sent us on to see Dr. Stone. The appointment went well & we love our new doctor! We got a few doctor recommendations from friends & we're so glad we trusted them :) She's actually pregnant with her 6th baby due in April - she obviously loves babies! The worst part was drawing 5 vials of blood and the nurse was aaaawful! Oh well, I better get use to it, right!? We both went to work and were both questioned about why our "appointment" lasted a few hours...yep, both of our offices were already onto us! We both denied that we were pregnant all day which took forever because we planned to tell our families that night. Since it was valentines day we decided to make valentine's cards to tell our parents. Here are a few photos of the cards we made:

Our families were both incredibly surprised & excited for us. I think my mom screamed for 10 seconds straight, Ron said he knew that's what our card said, my dad was speechless, and Ann was stunned. Our brothers & sisters were all thrilled to be aunts & uncles to baby T! Overall, Valentine's day 2011 turned out to be one of the most memorable days of our lives - I'm not sure any other Valentine's day will be able to beat the day that we saw our little peanut for the first time :)
