Happy Halloween!

Our little elephant wanted to wish everyone a safe & fun Halloween!

I've been looking forward to taking K trick-or-treating since last Halloween when she was just a baby.  She's not walking yet so I guess we'll carry her up to the doors and see how she does. :)

Bump Watch 2013: Week 15

I feel like these bump watch posts are so boring to write now that I've written Kinley's monthly posts.  My only big change is that I'm growing, ha!  Therefore, they might be short & sweet.

Scott went out of town for a work trip from Sunday to Wednesday this week so I was a single mommy for 4 whole days, yikes!  I was nervous before he left but Kinley was SO good.  She slept until 7am a couple mornings so I could get showered before she even woke up.  (I think she knew I was a little stressed).

We are so happy to have daddy home to help out...and take my baby bump picture. ;)

It's hard to see but I promise there's a little bump going on (even though it may only be all the extra food I've been eating).

Kinley is cracking me up in these pictures - I think her fun little personality is here to stay!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 15 weeks

Size of baby: 4 inches, about the size of a apple

Total weight gain/loss: Gained 4 pounds

Maternity clothes: Nothing yet but I tried on the pants I ordered and they're still a little baggy so I'll hold off for now.

Gender: We can find out in 5 weeks!

Movement: None yet

Sleep: Pretty good!  Kinley was an awesome sleeper this week so that means I got great sleep!

What I miss: Nothing really.  Life has slowed down considerably since Kinley came so I wasn't doing anything too crazy before I got preggo.

Cravings: Carbs & Mexican!  And that's definitely not good for the scale!

Symptoms: Hunger!  One day this week I ate a big taco salad for lunch and by 4:00 I was STARVING.  I haven't been hungry like that in a looong time (where you could cry because your stomach hurts so bad).  Anyway, nothing a little mashed potatoes from KFC can't cure. :)

Beth & Michael's Housewarming Party

We all road tripped to St. Louis for Beth & Michael's housewarming party on October 13.  The weather was gorgeous so it was a perfect day for it!

I promised Beth that I would get some house pics up for her but unfortunately I didn't get many pictures of the upstairs.

Here's the front of the house from when they first moved in.
Mizzou was playing that afternoon so they had a Mizzou themed party.  My sis made the cute wreath!
The front living room and amazing drink bar!
Another living room view.  Their house has lots of character and charm with great updates, too.

The dining room.  Makes me jealous that their whole house is decorated perfectly and I've lived in mine for years and we're not even close.

Main floor bathroom and extra bedroom.

Family room view from the kitchen at the back of the house.

This is the only upstairs picture I have - their sweet bathroom.

Against daddy's wishes, Kinley was a Mizzou fan for the day.  Aunt Beth bought her the dress and it was too cute not to wear!
I made them a Mizzou pumpkin as part of their gift.

I should have taken a picture of the food spread in the basement.  Let's just say that there was everything imaginable.  I'm pretty sure that they're still eating leftovers today!

This little girl was tuckered out but took a few little naps.
Kinley loved Caden's power wheels!
Caden had to show her how it worked.
And before the night was over Caden had to give Kinley a kiss & hug! How stinkin' cute! Daddy wasn't too happy about this either. :)

We hung in the backyard for most of the afternoon/evening.
I wasn't the best photographer but I did get a cute picture of Laura & Craig!
They had a great turn out with tons of family and friends!  We can't wait to come down and stay a little longer - hopefully to get some shopping in! :)

Early October

One morning we played peak-a-boo in our cozy coupe...
and stayed in our pj's (think they're a little long!?)

We went to Ava's 1st birthday party and loved playing on the slide...

and pushing the stroller.
Modeling her new sweater, skinny jeans, and boots before the party:
My Uncle Mike (Ava's grandpa) brought a pony to the party!!  I thought he actually bought her one because he always said that she would have one.
The little girls weren't sure what to think about it but Kinley did pet the pony and let me sit her on it for a few seconds without any tears!

I'm guessing this is another Saturday morning PJ pic and she just looked too sweet napping.

My sis-in-law Sue posted the cutest/sweetest picture on instagram so I had to make a copy of it to keep:

And finally, I actually took pictures of the Pinterest recipes that I made that week.  First up was Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls.  I was proud that I made them from scratch - rolled them and everything!  I gave myself a B+, they were pretty good.
Later that week I made an Apple Snickers Trifle for snack day at work.  It was SO good and tasted just like a caramel apple!
And this reminds me that I want to do a post about all the Pinterest recipes that I've tried.  The one thing I don't like about Pinterest is that there isn't a "done it" button.  Everyone posts all this cool stuff but you never know if it's good or not.  Luckily, I've had a lot of success with the ones I tried!

A big week of celebrations!

The 2nd week in October will always mean lots of celebrating for our family.

We celebrated Scott's birthday on October 9 and our 2nd wedding anniversary on the 10th.  Yep, he has NO excuse to forget our anniversary. :)

Our wedding day was definitely one of the best days of our lives.  I remember saying that we would take a trip back to Sanibel for our anniversary every year and so far that hasn't happened.  Babies happened, ha!
I meant to do a wedding re-cap post for our anniversary but that definitely didn't happen.  Maybe eventually...

Anyway, Scott & I went to dinner by ourselves at Bella Milano on Tuesday night.  Of course, I wanted to bring Kinley since I don't get to see her much during the work week but Scott's parents told us they were keeping her.

It turned out to be a good idea and we enjoyed a leisurely dinner without hearing the word "more" 100 times during the meal.  (I did kind of miss it though).

The hubby did good and sent me flowers Wednesday - lilies like my wedding bouquet and roses because he's romantic.

We went out to dinner at Island Bay with our parents on Thursday night to wrap up our week of celebrations.
I couldn't love these 2 more!
Kinley was so well behaved and we had a great evening!

If you would have told me that on our 2nd wedding anniversary we would have a 1 year old and another on the way I would have called you crazy!  I guess life's a little crazy like that but I wouldn't change it for the world!

Bump Watch 2013: Week 14

Well it's that time again to start my "bump watch" posts.  Didn't I just get done doing this?!  I'm not sure how I'll keep up on these posts plus Kinley's monthly posts but I'll try my best.

The 1st trimester absolutely flew by and I didn't even think to do a post about it.  Basically I was exhausted and fell asleep every night at 9, ha!
I hope you're all as obsessed with the little peanut in the picture as I am.  I mean, could she get any cuter!  She stood there and posed this morning and cheesed it up for daddy, I couldn't have been more proud!

I think it will be really fun to watch Kinley & my belly grow at the same time!

I need to work on my chalkboard since you can't read it.  I had Scott spray it with chalkboard paint a month ago and it used to say "happy fall."  I decided it's now our bump watch prop!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 14 weeks

Size of baby: 3.5 inches, about the size of a lemon

Total weight gain/loss: Gained 3 pounds

Maternity clothes: I haven't worn any yet but I've been tempted!  I did just order new maternity jeans & a pair of red denim pants so I can try to be trendy as I grow.

Gender: We don't know yet.  I'm ready to find out now but Scott is still deciding if he wants to find out so we shall see!

Movement: None yet

Sleep: Definitely different this time around.  Kinley has good & bad nights so it kind of depends on her.  If she has a good night, I sleep like a rock (with the occassional bathroom break).

What I miss: Doing my families' biggest loser contest & losing lbs.  It's never fun to watch the scale go up but at least this is worth it.

Cravings: Mashed potatoes...basically carbs.

Symptoms: I was exhausted throughout most of the 1st trimester so most of that has gone away although I have my moments.  I've been a little more nauseous this time around.  Sometimes it's when I get too full and other times it's when I'm hungry so it's hard to keep a good balance.  I'm also emotional as ever! :)

End of September

Here's my usual photo dump of pictures that didn't make it on the blog yet from my phone.  Sorry if you follow me on Instagram since I pull most of them from there.  And if you don't have instagram or follow me, you should - saraht_10. :)

A couple cute birthday pics:
She LOVED her presents and reading with Mckenzie!

I think she looks so different in the next 2 pictures, a lot more grown up...
and that wrinkled up nose and big grin...gets me every time!

She had some very important business to attend to that afternoon...

Kinley got her 1st real sickness (a virus & red throat) a few days after her birthday party so we had to go to the doctor on her actual birthday.  So sad, she had up to a 103 temp for most of the week. :(
I took some time off and we made a nest on the floor to watch some tv.  She never lays still or really watches tv so I knew she wasn't feeling good.

She still had to play in her new car even though she was feeling cruddy.
The virus ran its course and she was her happy self by the end of the weekend!

We dressed her in her Notre Dame cheerleading uniform for one of the games.  Daddy LOVED this!

She is such a good helper with dishes! <wink, wink>

She loves watching grandpa and daddy mow the lawn so she's practicing.  AND would you check out those leopard leggings?!  Love.

Apparently we did lots of dishes in September and we were really happy about it...

Kinley was up before the sun one morning so we made breakfast casserole.  Once again, good helper. ;)

I decided to let her use a spoon since she normally just picks up her food.  I'll just say that she got very inventive...
The spoon worked for a little while and then she thought her hands might work better...
but then she decided to try out the Buffett & Tiki eating style...look no hands!
And finally, the drinking method - I about died laughing when she did this!

And here are 2 short videos showing 2 of her favorite words (the grunting means that she really wants something):
Banana

More

That's all for now!
