Bump Watch 2011: Week 26

The last week of my 2nd trimester was just as busy as the rest have been but I was really bad at taking pictures so I don't have much documentation.  We went to the Eric Church concert at the Sangamon County Fair on Thursday and I must say that I'm settling into my role of DD pretty well.  The concert was absolutely packed so we got to see tons of people we hadn't seen in a while & I love that - especially when I get to show off my new bump!  Here's a pic of Ashley, Becca, & me during the concert - did I mention it was HOT?!

Next up on the agenda was my dance recital.  This was my 2nd year taking a hip hop class & I found out we were expecting in the middle of the year so I decided I would continue taking classes & see how I felt when the recital came around.  Well it came around quickly so I thought, why not, let's rock the baby bump on stage.  We had dress rehearsal Friday night and the show was Saturday evening.  I told my teacher to put me on the side so that I could roll off stage if necessary, hahaha.  We wore heals in one of our dances so I'm just happy that I didn't wipe out on stage!  Overall, it went really well though.  Here's one picture that I made it in:
(2nd from the left)
After the dance show I met up with Scott at the Firefighter's Club Chicken Fry - one of my favorite lake club parties of the year.  I posted the picture on the right because I had to document how ridiculous the lady selling tickets was.  She made me get a wristband even though I wasn't drinking & you could clearly tell I was pregnant.  Scott finally made me take it off because I looked really bad drinking what looked like a vodka lemonade (actually just a lemon shake up) with my alcohal wristband on.  Hey, pregnant ladies can drink too, right??  hahaha NO!  We hung out there for a while until I got tired & I've learned that I just have to utter those words & the hubby will leave with me.  It definitely doesn't work that easily when I'm not pregnant so I'm taking advantage while I can!  My first "OMG, I'm getting a big belly" moment came when I was trying to get in my car which was parked way too close to the car on my side.  Needless to say, I couldn't suck in my belly enough & had to climb in through the passenger door to get in my car! hahahah, I felt like 'Large Marge' after that!

We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday with lots of family time.  Scott had to work all day so I surprised him that morning with a card from the puppies (yes, I'm the crazy dog lady) and an outfit from baby T.  I bought the outfit a month ago but I thought it would be the perfect "soon-to-be" daddy's day gift so I saved it.  I hung out with my family that day & we cooked out on the grill for dinner - my dad & brother's favorite!  After dinner I hurried to Island Bay to celebrate with the Tucker clan.  Here's a picture of Delaney, Kylie, & Brayden after dinner - the only picture I took all day.  I feel very lucky to have such an awesome "daddy-do" who spoiled us kids rotten and also a great dad-in-law that has treated me like his own for years.  I can't wait until next year to celebrate Scott's first daddy's day!!
One last thing that I must mention is that we finally got registered!  My sis was sending out baby shower invitations this week so we were running out of time.  We spent most of Scott's day off on Tuesday walking around Babies R Us trying to scan everything the baby will need - and that's a lot of stuff!  How can someone so small need so much?!  I started going very neutral on everything and Scott finally took the gun & started scanning pink stuff because "she is a girl!" in his words.  Daddy's already sticking up for our princess :)

Baby Names

AND BABY T'S NAME IS....

Hahahaha, in your dreams blog readers!  Actually, I couldn't even tell you if I wanted to because we can't decide!  From the beginning Scott & I knew that we would keep the name a secret since we found out the gender and told everyone.  We wanted at least something to be a surprise for everyone!  I'm kind of bummed that I can't get cute monogrammed onesies & accessories but I guess that can come later.

This has been the biggest source of anxiety in my life lately - is the name too common or too crazy, does it remind us of someone else, will it turn into a good adult name, any cute nicknames to go along with it???  I'm pretty convinced that we're going to have to see our bundle of joy before we decide and that's ok with me as long as we have a handful of names to choose from.  Another problem is that our name list keeps getting longer and that makes it even more confusing.  Oh well, we still have some time!

Here's an interesting article on 2011 baby name trends.  I made an observation at the beginning of the year that this year might be the year of the older/proper names with cutesy nicknames.  Ie:  Evelyn (Evie), Eleanor (Ella), Josephine (Josie), Margaret (Maggie) and even some Ruths and Mabels thrown in.  My grandma is pushing for Evelyn since that's her name but I've heard a couple this year already so I'm not ready to get on that bandwagon yet.  We'll see!  Anywho, what do you guys think of the other 2011 trends?!

I'm always open for suggestions, too!

NameVoyager is another cool tool that lets you explore names and see when they were popular and what their highest rank was at the time.  Surprise, surprise, Sarah was most popular in the 80's and peaked at #5!  Even if you aren't looking for baby names it's fun to put in your own name.

*Approximately 93 days left to decide*

Bump Watch 2011: Week 25

Another week, another wedding!  Scott & I ventured to Effingham on Saturday to celebrate Molly and Phil's big day.  I've known Molls for years - ever since we used to play t-rex relay and "work the corner" in Oak Hills back in middle school/junior high.  Wow, that's embarrasing!  We ruled our neighborhoods back in the day...oohhh memories...  Anyway, she and Phil are the sweetest couple ever and both have great groups of friends which made the wedding & reception tons of fun!  Sometimes it's tough when the couple grew up in different towns and the groups of friends have never met.  This was definitely not the case as Rochester & Effingham meshed wonderfully on the dance floor - it was packed all night!  Since I obvioulsy wasn't drinking I decided that we'd make the hour and a half trip home that night.  Ughhh, not the best idea at 11:30pm but I had my tipsy co-pilot/hubby to keep me awake the whole time :)  Cheers to a lifetime of love, happiness, & rainbows, Freimuths!

Scott had this whole weekend off (first time since May) so we packed in everything that we could!  Sunday was boat day and our first weekend on the water.  We headed out around 1:00 with the Jeffers and Fritch-lers and everyone decided it was a tie-up and hang out kind of day.  No one wanted to fight the waves to wakeboard...maybe next time.  I had a little shadow named Hadley Kay - we laid out, ate snacks & danced for most of the day and she thought she was pretty big stuff :)  At first she acted nervous but by the end of the day she was standing on the back in the water with daddy and showed no fear.  Baby T will have to take lessons from her cousin Hadley once she gets here and I know Hadley will be sooo excited to teach her everything (including how to shake her booty) haha!  I can't wait for Scott to have another weekend off in July so we can do it again!

Captain for the day!
I forgot to mention that I never got a call about my glucose test so that means I passed!  I did get a letter saying that I needed to take an iron supplement, but I can handle that.  Otherwise, everything was still looking good with baby!

I took 2 pictures this week - this one makes me look very pregnant & the next one
doesn't show it as well.  I think my bump gets bigger throughout the day
so my morning pictures aren't super accurate.
Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 25 weeks
Size of baby: 13.5 inches & 1.5 pounds
Total weight gain/loss:  14 pounds (just maintained this week)
Maternity clothes: Maternity pants & a mix of regular & maternity tops.  I went back to Motherhood Maternity & bought another dress & some cute tunics to wear with leggings - it's all about comfort now!
Gender: It's a GIRL!!
Movement: She's moving consistently now & Scott can feel her a lot more.  Scott rolled over & laid on my belly on the couch & she kicked him in the head! hahaha
Sleep: Still tossing & turning & my hips are always sore when I wake up.
What I miss:  Laying on my belly when I'm in the sun - how am I going to get my backside tan??  Hmmm...
Cravings: Ice cream has been yummy this week :)
Symptoms: A little acid reflux on certain days
Memorable moment for the week:  Just my growing belly!
25 weeks!

Bump Watch 2011: Week 24

What our peanut might look like at 24 weeks
(A real baby!)
I've been looking forward to week 24 for a while because we had another doctors appointment scheduled!  I was so excited to hear baby's heartbeat again but definitely NOT excited to get on the scale or take the glucose test.  I had heard that the drink was awful & it made some people sick.  Well, I don't know if I'm tough or if others are just being dramatic but it wasn't that bad.  It was just a reallllly sweet juice drink.  I started the appointment by drinking the juice & seeing a new doctor - Dr. Hall.  I'm sure that I've mentioned that my doctor (Dr. Stone) is on maternity leave with her 6th child!!...so I'm seeing different doctors until she's back in July.  Well, Scott & I were not fans of the last doctor we saw - she was very impersonal and rushed through the appointment after making us wait 40 minutes in the exam room.  Dr. Hall was a lot more like Dr. Stone & I really liked her, not to mention I only waited 5 minutes to see her which is a record!  She said everything looked great but my weight...welll....jumped a little this time.  HAHAHA, that was putting it nicely!  I gained 8 pounds this month, yikes!  I was expecting a major gain but wowzers - I guess the late night snacking at work and all the fast food caught up with me quick!  Overall though, I've gained 14 pounds and she said that's fine for 24 weeks.  I'm pretty sure that I'll drop a few in the next week now that work isn't so crazy.

I then had to go back and wait about 40 minutes for them to draw my blood for the glucose test.  I'm sure I've mentioned this as well, but the last nurse that drew my blood was AWFUL!  Now, I admit that I'm a baby when it comes to needles but that time was ricidulous!  It felt like she was forcing it into my arm & it hurt when she changed the vile everytime.  So I warned this nurse & told her that I was scarred from the last lady and she reassured me that she was a veteran.  Thanks god - she was amazing!!  Didn't hurt at all & I thanked her a million times!  As I was walking out I said, "I'm healed!"  I'm sure she was laughing at how dramatic I was but I was really excited!

Other than that, this week has been pretty normal.  I hit the pool on Saturday and helped my mom price things for a garage sale all day Sunday (tons of fun!) haha.  Hopefully I can make some moolah from all of the clothes I'm selling, I'll let you all know how it goes next week.  Garage sales are definitely not very exciting though...  Tuesday was baby T's first boating excursion!  After I got off work we cruised around a little bit while Scott, Reg, & Kyle drank some brew-skies.  I was a little jealous but I'll get to enjoy one soon enough. : )

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 24 weeks
Size of baby: 12 inches & between 1 & 2 pounds
Total weight gain/loss:  14 pounds - woah!
Maternity clothes: Maternity pants, normal tops & dresses.
Gender: It's a GIRL!!
Movement: She's moving consistently now & Scott can feel her a lot more.
Sleep: Still tossing & turning & my hips are always sore when I wake up.
What I miss:  This sounds really weird to say but I miss getting a really intense sweaty workout!  This is the time of year when I usually get on my workout kick & start running outside to get ready for bikini season.  It's been so hot that I don't want to overdo it so I've been lazy.  I need to start walking more & lifting weights so my arms and legs don't get too jiggly!
Cravings: Nothing unusual this week
Symptoms: My belly has grown so much this month!!
Memorable moment for the week:  Hearing baby T's heartbeat - 154 and finally looking pregnant & not just chubby.

Bump Watch 2011: Week 23

This blog is going to be pretty boring as I didn't take any pictures all week!  That could have a lot to do with the fact that I was at work all weekend & didn't have much "me" time this week.  Oh well, I'm done complaining about it, at least it's over now!  I knew that we wouldn't have much work to do on Saturday since we were playing the "waiting game" with the legistlators so I decided to make the best of it & took an extended lunch to head to the pool at Isand Bay with the Tucker fam.  I hung out for about an hour before heading back to the office and hoped that I got some sun.  Uuummm, yep I got a little crispy : )  Note to self:  maybe the doctors are right when they tell you that your skin is more sensitive now, hahah, lesson learned!

We had our 2nd wedding celebration of the year on Sunday for Zach & Brooke.  We've known them forever and they are the sweetest couple!  I ended up working all day Sunday and didn't get off until 9pm so I raced to the reception so I could see them for a little while.  Needless to say, I missed the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner so I had enough time to say congrats and socialize for a minute.  Brooke looked gorgeous and the reception was tons of fun!  I'm using someone's facebook picture of the happy couple so I can at least have 1 photo from the weekend!  Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Bell!

Pardon the awful picture, we forgot to get one
before work every day this week!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 23 weeks
Size of baby: 11 inches, and over 1 pound
Total weight gain/loss:  Haven't been on the scale in a while so I'll guess 11 pounds-ish.  I don't even want to get on the scale at the doctor b/c my eating habits have been AWFUL since we've been working like crazy.
Maternity clothes: Maternity bottoms are a definite must!  I'm still wearing normal tops because I feel like the maternity ones still hang too low in the front.
Gender: It's a GIRL!!
Movement: Getting more distinct every week!
Sleep: I've started tossing & turning a lot more & my hips feel sore when I get up in the morning.
What I miss:  Diet cokes!  Early on, I read that aspartame is the devil so I've been avoiding anything diet.  BUT I just read a new email & it said that it's fine in moderation.  I might have to give into this craving soon!
Cravings: Vanilla diet cokes from Sonic!
Symptoms: I've been getting heartburn/acid reflux - whatever you call it - when I lay down at night.  It hasn't gotten bad enough that I've had to take anything though.
Memorable moment for the week:  I ordered a few things on super-sale from Gymboree & got them in the mail this week.  One is a suuuper cute swimsuit (I know I don't need it until next summer) and when Scott saw it, he said, "Wow, this is real."  I still don't think it's going to sink in until we're holding her in our arms : )
